CPAW fulfills this mission through two complementary approaches. First, it conducts animal welfare research related to public policy and submits formal comments to federal agencies, translating insights into actionable guidance for policymakers. Second, it supports the academic community by convening the Animal Welfare Economics Working Group, fostering collaboration among researchers working at the intersection of economics and animal welfare. Together, these efforts bridge the gap between animal welfare research and real-world policy implementation.
